Bill was born and raised in the Niagara region and has worked in public accounting since 1991 when he began his career as a co-op student. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996 after graduating from Brock University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Accounting – Co-Op degree. Bill joined DJB in 2005 prior to which he held the position of Senior Tax Manager at an international public accounting firm. Bill was appointed a Partner of the firm in January 2007 and currently sits on the firm’s Tax Committee.
As a Tax Partner located in the firm’s Niagara Falls office, Bill provides comprehensive corporate and personal tax planning advice to clients of DJB’s offices in the Niagara region. He has a wide range of experience with owner-managed businesses in a variety of industries, including professionals, agriculture, hospitality and manufacturing. In addition, Bill has experience in assisting very large corporate clients with tax compliance and tax planning opportunities.
Bill specializes in developing comprehensive, value-added tax plans and advice for clients. In addition, Bill is experienced in assisting with the structuring of business sale and acquisition transactions and assisting owner-manager business with the development and implementation of comprehensive estate and succession plans.
Bill completed the C.I.C.A. In-Depth Tax Course in 1998, the C.I.C.A. Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner-Managed Business Course in 2005 and is a graduate of The Dale Carnegie Course. He has been practicing as a full-time tax specialist since 1998.
As part of his public service activity, Bill has been involved in a number of non-profit organizations, including the United Way, Rotary and a number of minor sports organizations. Bill is an avid golfer and an active member of Lookout Point Golf & Country Club in Fonthill.
