Derek started his career at DJB in 2012 as a co-op student and began working full time in 2016. He was promoted to Manager in 2020 and to Senior Manager in 2023. Derek specializes in corporate tax reorganizations, estate tax planning, and departure tax planning. He has extensive experience with non-resident clients and clients with non-Canadian income sources.
Derek obtained his Bachelor of Accounting degree from Brock University in December 2015 and obtained his CPA, CA designation in December 2017. He has completed all three years of the CICA In-Depth Tax program.
Derek proudly supports his community through his attendance at a number of local charitable events, fundraisers, and golf tournaments. He is an avid golfer and a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan (but don’t hold that against him).
